One of the best ways to start writing Chinese characters is by learning the 8 Basic Strokes of Chinese calligraphy: 點 (dot), 横 (line), 撇 (curve), 捺 (press), 豎 (vertical), 折 (corner), 鈎 (hook), and 提 (pick).
Here are 6 simple Chinese characters that use these basic strokes, why not try them out with your little ones: 人 (person), 大 (big), 天 (sky), 夫 (man), 木 (wood), 禾 (grain). See if you can point out the strokes in each character!
